A New Season, A New Generation

Another excellent day was shared in Keauʻohana to welcome the new season in a celebratory ceremony, bringing new life forth! And with it, may there be continued rains for the 155 new keiki beginning their journey in the big forest world. We hope they will be well prepared for the challenge of a dry winter ahead.

Our zealous team of fourteen persevered beyond our scheduled 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. planting time to reach our goal. An entire watermelon was gobbled up on this hot and sunny day, thanks to Xin from Lōkahi Kai Organic Orchard, and her four woofers! Mahalo to all our generous participants for helping make Fall Equinox a meaningful time in support of this rare Hawaiʻi lowland forest.

Together, with remarkable human beings, the Keauʻohana ʻohana grows greener. We are proud to be part of a community alive with ʻōhiʻa, ʻohe, loulu, ʻalaheʻe, ʻākia, ʻukiʻuki, ahu’awa, akiohala, and so much more!
